Hello everyone. It's been a long time since I updated The Sponge. Great things have been happening for me and Ari in the last year.
Long story VERY short...I got a job in the Marine Corps Reserve with HMLA-773 in New Orleans and am out in California for the next five months learning how to fly Cobras. The process was a long one and I wasn't sure I was going to get the job, so the last three months were very stressful as I waited to hear. When I finally did get the word that my package was approved things happened quickly. I gave my boss in Nashville a weeks notice that I was going to training in Cali. I went to Quantico to update all my uniforms since I had been promoted to Major. Got to see my friends Jethro and Scotty while there as well as attend the change-of-command party for my old friend Frenchy. Three days later Ariana drove me down to New Orleans to check in to my new squadron. It was very hard for us to say goodbye, but Ari has been a trooper. All of this Marine Corps stuff is completely new to her. After three days in New O I flew out to San Diego to begin my training at HMT-303. My brothers and sister are out here as well so we're all here together.
To those wondering...Yes, the wedding is still on as planned, I am taking leave to fly home that week and we can't wait to see everybody there. Until then, take care.
